Brno feels the force for impressive CFMOTO CFORCE 850 TOURING and CFORCE 1000 TOURING European launch

The Autodrom Brno has long been a historic home for motorsport but the sweeping Grand Prix circuit was home to a different kind of advanced technology this week as a large gathering of international press, dealers and CFMOTO management congregated to ride the superb new CFORCE 850 TOURING and CFORCE 1000 TOURING ATVs.

The vehicles were initially presented at the 2023 EICMA show in Milan last November: Europe’s largest motorcycle and mobility exhibition.

The CFORCE first came to prominence 13 years ago with the 800cc model that was then upgraded significantly to the 850XC and 1000 models in 2017. More than half a decade later CFMOTO have sourced even more gains of the CFORCE parts and components thanks to focused R&D and rigorous testing conditions in landscapes like the Gobi Desert and the eastern European forest and competitions. The third-generation has been overhauled and optimized to aim for ‘P1’ of the ATV category thanks to a series of refreshed attributes to 70% of the total vehicle.

They promise to match class-leading power output, offer the best ground clearance at 305mm as well as towing capacity at 820kg. Exceptional handling along with a high-capacity fuel tank, and first-class power modes and drive aids operated through innovative TFT display.

Brno permitted European media and guests their blast of the products in the long wake of the EICMA unveiling. More than one hundred dignitaries heard words from Mr. Eduard Slampa (Marketing Manager of Journeyman), Mr. Charles Ni (CFMOTO Chief Sales Officer), Mr. Markus Ferch (CFMOTO VP of Sales Europe), Mr. Jan Dohnal (Sales Manager of Journeyman) about the creation process and positioning of the 2024 TOURING models. They then embarked on a ‘festival’ of ATV activities that included on and off-road sections, slalom courses (where they could also cross and compare both TOURINGs against previous editions) technical tests and a range of other fun-filled but beneficial events that showed the full possibilities of the CFORCE 850 TOURING and CFORCE 1000 TOURING while weaving in and around the vast Brno facility.

CFORCE 850 TOURING and CFORCE 1000 TOURING key features

The first of many aspects of the 2024 CFORCE TOURING range that CFMOTO wanted to boost was the performance stats. The firm found a 16% increase in the v-twin power, and this was thanks to a reinforced cylinder head, enlarged intake (and better efficiency) and exhaust valves (dual muffler reducing back pressure by 32%), and optimized camshafts. The CFORCE 850 TOURING will churn out 72hp with 75Nm of torque. The CFORCE 1000 TOURING makes 86hp with 85Nm of grunt. The CFMOTO CVT transmission is smoother and with a longer belt life.

The new tube-beam frame has been reinforced that results a significant lighter weight of 14.784kg on both models for improved agility and efficiency. CFMOTO have overhauled the suspension for both ATVs. The rate of travel has been pushed up over 35% and the turning radius is 17% tighter. There is a new front sway bar for more stability and the retuned piggyback shock and hydraulic damping unit will laugh at the toughest of terrain or obstacles.

The CFORCE TOURING technology is one of the unbeatable facets. Both the 850 and the 1000 count on three power modes, Sport/Normal/Work, through the BOSCH EFI-administered throttle for ideal precision to the task. Sport unlocks 100% of the ATV’s potential, Normal gives a more linear response from the ride-by-wire accelerator and Work allows an easy approach. EPS power steering comes in three settings (as well as Auto), made independently on whatever power mode. For steep hills and drops, the CFORCE can engage the electronic Descent Assist Control to riders to safely thread their way down a slope.

These options and more will be seen through the 8” MMI touchscreen display or the standard 7” TFT gauge. Multiple power portals (DC/USB and USB-C) are essential for charging but also CarPlay for useful connectivity. Connectivity is key and the CFMOTO RIDE App permits OTA upgrades, basic info, GPS location, reminders, tutorials and other assets.

Ergonomics was another priority for CFMOTO. Comfort for both the rider and the passenger (a new seat) has been reworked. The gear shift has been switched to the right side and both the operator and the pillion will notice better temperature control around the legs with the assistance of airflow analysis and CFD dynamics. A narrower riding position helps towards heightened sense of control as does a more ‘attacking’ handlebar stance. Careful attention to vibration means CFMOTO have made a decent reduction of 80% in peaks.

The CFORCE 850 TOURING and CFORCE 1000 TOURING will handle the brunt of the toughest work. The electronic winch will tug at the most stubborn of weights with 1587kg of potential. Front and rear racks will bear up to 45 and 90kg respectively while the storage box has a 3.8l interior space.

In Brno, initial reactions from the media praised the improved torque, power and responsiveness of the vehicles; some adding that clear improvements with handling and also practical aesthetics were easily felt and identifiable. CFMOTO’s efforts to raise the level and quality of these signature products was noted and appreciated.

With plenty of kilometers logged on the new CFORCE TOURING models and with substantial amounts of Czech soil churned, the international media group and collection of guests were able to leave Brno with the thoughts of Charles Ni and Markus Ferch clear in their minds.

“Europe is one of our most important markets. As one of the best performers from the CFORCE family, CFORCE 850 and 1000 have been active in the global markets for years. I’m honored to have this opportunity to present these 2 fabulous models with brand-new designs and updated features, as one of the gifts for the 35th anniversary of CFMOTO. I'm sure that CFORCE 850 TOURING and CFORCE 1000 TOURING will bring you more than you can expect,” commented Mr Ni.

“CFMOTO is always fast evolving. We have been one of the fastest growing powersports companies in recent history. What started as a small shop in 1989, by a father and his son, has become a dynamic and modern global company and we are here to stay!” remarked Mr Ferch.
