(13th July 2024,China)The fifth CFMOTO DAY at Zhejiang International Circuit in the
Zhejiang province grew in size, significance and speed with a ‘racing’ theme. CFMOTO
riders, fans and curious public gathered at the popular motorsport site to not only take part
in a range of track based activities and to greet the Moto3 Grand Prix winning CFMOTO
Aspar Team but also witness the participation of three sporty and dedicatory motorcycles.
CFMOTO DAY brought a jubilant and appropriately ‘fast’ end to the second CFMOTO Talent
Trophy to help find and develop China’s racing stars of tomorrow.
More than 2000 motorcyclists, CFMOTO guests, domestic and international media and
partners travelled to the Zhejiang International Circuit for a first-class event to celebrate the
brand. Last year, the CFMOTO DAY 2023 not only showed the passion, the technology and
the joy of motorcycling but it also brought the public closer to the heart of the company. For
the fifth edition in 2024, CFMOTO wanted to dedicate a ‘racing’ theme to proceedings,
especially with the landmark progress and collaboration with the CFMOTO Aspar Team
delivering maiden Moto3 GP wins, and entry also to the Moto2 division (where the brand
has also picked up podium trophies) for 2024.CFMOTO Aspar Team management and world championship stars like David Alonso and
Jake Dixon were acting as judges for the CFMOTO Talent Trophy; a scheme that was
launched for the first time in October 2023 and enjoyed a second incarnation around the
go-kart layout of the ZIC. Li Yuxuan emerged as the latest winner from the selection of
hopeful youngsters steering CFMOTO machinery at pace, and will now enter the
development program to nurture potential talent and ambition. Before the prizes were awarded, a colorful opening ceremony allowed the presentation of
three eye-catching sports bikes. The covers were whipped away from the 500SR VOOM, the
675SR-R and the 250SR-R before all three were put through their paces on the asphalt. The neo-retro style and clear emphasis on sport and high performance is what caught the
eye with the 500SR VOOM. The purposeful design houses a strong parallel four-cylinder
engine with a maximum output of 58km/12500rpm.The 500SR-VOOM is equipped with the
RAM AIR system, and thus the power could increase to 61 kW when the ram air effect is
factored in at higher speeds. Power-to-weight is superb and the torquey feeling of the motor
is even better with 0 to 100m achieved in 4.2 seconds and a max speed of 220kmph. The
‘racy’ profile comes through the suspension and adjustable shock, slipper clutch and quick
shifter. Dual-channel ABS will ‘slow the show’ and provide dependable feeling from the
frame and chassis honed for agility. Track times and a mound of other data can be easily
seen through the 5”TFT with option T-box connection possibilities for the full rundown of the
bike’s potential. From four to three: the 675SR-R triple is an exciting compromise of engine platforms,
bringing thundering torque but also dynamic acceleration and top end revs without the
irritation of vibration! The specialized and balanced design of this bike (as well as
considered choice of materials for this specific project) means it is a light package at only
175kg with a peak power of 95hp, and 70Nm of that fearsome torque sensation. Like some
of its other ‘SR’ family, it’s clear that the 675SR-R is built for speed and sport. The profile is
athletic, edgy and inspired by race bikes; check the MotoGP-style air inlets, aero shapes and
aluminum high-arching swingarm among a raft of other features that make it fit to be fast. Moto3 hotshot David Alonso threw his leg over the new 250SR-R. The small displacement
twin cylinder model had been jointly developed by CFMOTO R&D as well as the CFMOTO
Aspar Team. The 270-degree crankshaft delivers smooth and constant acceleration,
combined with general high-speed performance, extreme light weight, a deep focus on
handling, aerodynamics and even a deeper exhaust note. All the lessons of Moto3 and track
competition have been digested and then peeled into the final shape and spec sheet of the
250SR-R, which means it is something treasured in the CFMOTO family.CFMOTO DAY clicked into a higher gear with the Track Parade. The noise and sight of more
than 300 CFMOTO bikes and owners from 150cc to 1250cc, and with CFMOTO ZFORCE to
lead the parade show, taking demo laps was a breathtaking image of the full power and
scope of the firm’s portfolio. Bringing riders and customers together of different ages, of
different backgrounds and with different priorities for their daily ride is the emotional
centerpiece of the event. For those that did not strap-up a helmet there was still plenty to do. The ‘RACING MAN’
role-playing initiative welcomed guests and families to get closer to CFMOTO’s competitive
organization with a series of game and information points, showing the public what it was
like to be a team manager, a PR officer, a racer and more. Contests, points and prizes
cranked up the fun factor. A MotoGP themed ‘pit house’ offered an enclave of merchandise
and accessories while people could test drive certain models and also try to set a record lap
of Grand Prix circuits on MotoGP simulators. A stunt show and other distractions away from
the smell of the hot rubber gave CFMOTO DAY a distinctive vibrancy. Roll on 2025.
