CFMOTO went back to the source to provide a select, cosmopolitan gathering of media representatives with an authentic taste of the company, the culture and the many diverse roads and routes on a 1000km adventure through Xizang. CFMOTO’s impressive international expansion and blossoming global community has opened the window to celebrate further the company’s home territory and a platform for pride and inspiration of the firm’s engineering and efforts.
The 2026 CHINA TOUR plucked five media representatives from Belgium, Brazil, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom and together with three professionals from China and equipped the group with CFMOTO 1000MT-X and 800MT Explorer bikes for six days of riding. The over 1000km loop encompassed towns and regions in Lhasa, Shannan, Shigatse, Zhaxizong, Shigatse and back to Lhasa (in Xizang). 



Before the expedition got underway, the international visitors were afforded a look behind the scenes with a comprehensive guide of the CFMOTO factory in Hangzhou. The guests were able to see the latest production facilities that influence the creation of the growing vehicle portfolio. A swift test ride on a selected CFMOTO motorcycle was included to get the pack into the mood for what lay ahead.
The general theme of the ride was an immersion into the spiritual environment and varied topography of Xizang; where local cultures, roads, people, sights and—of course—some varied trails to sample the strengths of the 1000MT-X were paramount. Highlights included the trek along the Yarlung Zangbo river that involved grasslands, rocky mountain passes and glaciers with other moments at the Yamdrok Lake, the G318 5000km Marker, and the big high-altitude push to the Qomolangma Base Camp area.


There was time for reflection, camaraderie through the views and traveling and an appreciation for untouched corners of the country (and the world). At various stages there were remarks from the group about the capabilities of the 1000MT-X that acted as an ideal conduit for the emotions and energy of the tour.
The 1000MT-X is one of the flagship adventuring models of the CFMOTO MT family; a range of bikes designed to erase the limits of possibility. Riders can remove boundaries of distance, terrain, comfort, practicality and enjoyment. The motorcycle does this through its versatility for long-term rolling whether on the road or in off-road conditions. The compact Cr-Mo steel frame technology emphasises feeling but also stability. It is driven by a 946.2cc, twin-cylinder inline, liquid-cooled, EFI, 8 Valve DOHC motor where the 105Nm of torque increases the adaptability. 199kg of dry weight is another feature but the list is thorough and was appreciated by the Xizang tourers. Items such as the KYB suspension, Bosch electronics and ride modes, 8” TFT, heated grips and seat, Quickshifter, Cruise Control and TPM as well as Pirelli Scorpion tyres. Not forgetting some of the 30 Adventure ready accessories. 

The 2026 CHINA TOUR was about more than a try-out for the 1000MT-X. As CFMOTO branches across the world and with significant market presence in more than 100 countries, the way the brand touches and links with riders new, old and of the future is becoming more and more prominent. CFMOTO already has a selection of customer and industry-based events and schemes globally with many more local activations broadening the CFMOTO message of inclusion and enjoyment. The company sees a chance to focus on genuine community engagement and the opportunity to link people and experiences across the world. Riders throughout the time zones are sharing their CFMOTO connection but also using the brand to reach out further than they may have done before. The possibilities are inspiring the public, media and those dedicated to creating and showing off their own content. The stories from the ride are also continuing beyond the roads of Xizang, with participating media sharing their own features and reflections from the journey. In April, French creator Lolo Cochet visited CFMOTO and completed his own ride through scenic and culturally rich zones of China and countryman Didier Martin also crossed Eurasia on a CFMOTO 450MT to arrive at CFMOTO’s headquarters in Hangzhou. Much more is due to come with the second-ever edition of the CFMOTO MT CHALLENGE that will bring together riders from over 20 countries and regions embark on a two-day competition in Huelva, Spain at the end of September.

‘Experience more together’ has always been one of CFMOTO’s strongest messages and promises, and the 2026 CHINA TOUR was another display of this priority.
