DANI HOLGADO Earns His Well-Deserved Maiden Podium In MOTO2

The Austrian Grand Prix saw Dani Holgado's first podium in the intermediate category. The CFMOTO Aspar Team rider finished in second place after a great performance throughout the 23 laps. David Alonso was unable to finish the day as he had hoped after crashing out with six laps to go while in third.

Dani Holgado faced the thirteenth race of the season from pole position for the first time in his debut year in Moto2. The Spanish rider got off to a good start, focused on maintaining his position and keeping up a good pace so as not to fall behind his rivals. The CFMOTO Aspar Team rider did not drop out of the podium positions throughout the race and even tried to catch up with the leader, Diogo Moreira. However, Holgado preferred not to take excessive risks given the high pace of the race and wanted to secure second place. The Spanish rider crossed the finish line in second place to secure his first podium in the intermediate category, after coming close to achieving it on several occasions.

His teammate David Alonso also put in a solid performance in Austria. The Colombian, who started from fifth position, went from strength to strength and climbed up the rankings to finish in the top three. Alonso even tried to catch up with his teammate, but with six laps to go, a crash eliminated any chance of the current world champion securing his second podium finish of the season.

The Moto3 race at the Austrian Grand Prix promised a great show for the fans. The riders in the lighweight category kicked off an exciting Sunday of racing, with Máximo Quiles one of the main protagonists. The rookie made a great start from the second row of the grid to take the lead after the first lap. The CFMOTO Aspar Team rider managed a difficult race perfectly and set his own pace to reduce the group as much as possible. Quiles fell to third position, but he was able to make up for his mistake and regain the lead. Halfway through the race, the Spaniard set his own pace again to fight for another podium finish. A collision in the penultimate corner forced Quiles and another rider off the track. This meant he lost his chance of securing his sixth podium finish of the year, finishing in fourth place, although only 79 thousandths of a second behind the third-placed rider.

Meanwhile, Dennis Foggia remained in the top 5 in the early laps. He subsequently fell out of the leading group, forcing the Italian to face this new scenario with a different strategy. Foggia managed to lead the second group, although in the final laps he lost a few positions, which he was able to recover until crossing the finish line in fourth place. However, a penalty for not completing the long lap in time relegated him to thirteenth position.

Despite the bittersweet result, the CFMOTO Aspar Team rider was able to draw some very positive conclusions for the next race, which will take place next week in Hungary.
