CFMOTO Aspar rider Dani Holgado dominated the Catalan Grand Prix with an undisputed victory, leading the race from start to finish and even having time to wave to the crowd on his way to victory. Holgado's victory also marks the first time that the CFMOTO Aspar Team has won two consecutive races in Moto2, after David Alonso took the top spot on the podium in Hungary.
Dani Holgado had his best weekend since his debut in the intermediate category. The CFMOTO Aspar rider started the Moto2 race from pole position, ready to fight with the best from the start. After a great start in which he consolidated his first position from the first corner, Holgado maintained a good pace and, without making any mistakes, had already built up a lead of more than half a second over the second-placed rider by the time he crossed the finish line. Throughout the 21 laps of the race, Holgado managed his tyres and their wear well, waiting for the right moment to increase his speed and extend his lead to more than three seconds over Dixon.
Meanwhile, his teammate David Alonso once again demonstrated his talent in a race that proved challenging for the Colombian. After being forced to start from 25th position due to a nine-place penalty for riding slowly during timed practice, he tried to find his own pace to move up the field. Alonso was able to turn the situation around and began to overtake rivals to take a well-deserved eighth place.
In Moto3, Máximo Quiles and Dennis Foggia had to fight their way back from the start, having started from the third and fourth rows. The Spanish rider was already fourth by the second corner and quickly moved into podium contention. Quiles climbed to second place and tried to catch the leader, finding a comfortable pace to stay among the frontrunners and look for the right moment to attack. Halfway through the race, the CFMOTO Aspar Team rider remained in the top three, battling with other rivals for the podium positions. With six laps to go, the Moto3 rookie found himself surrounded by the other riders and was unable to stop his bike in the first corner due to the slipstream, causing him to drop to fourteenth position. Faced with this new situation, Quiles tried to make up as much ground as possible and crossed the finish line in twelfth place. This result allowed him to score important points in the standings to remain in third position and continue to be the best rookie in the category.
His teammate Dennis Foggia was confident of completing a good race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The Italian lost positions in the early laps, which complicated his initial race strategy. The lack of grip made riding difficult, and Foggia focused on reaching the points positions as soon as possible. However, the CFMOTO Aspar Team rider was unable to achieve this and finally finished nineteenth.
