Jake Dixon, king of Silverstone for a day
CFMOTO Aspar Team rider conquers Silverstone and becomes the fourth British rider to stand on top of the podium in Great Britain.

Winning a race is always special, but the feeling of winning at home is even greater. Today, in his sixth GP at Silverstone and in his 96th race in the World Championship, Jake Dixon has finally tasted victory at home. He has got his first win of the season, the third of his Moto2 career, at the British GP, after a great overtaking over Aron Canet on the last lap. Dixon had started from fifth position and had been very strong in the first laps. In fact, on the second lap he was already in second place, behind the Spanish, who has led all but one lap, the most important of all. The CFMOTO Aspar Team rider has been patient and has made the most of his moment at the start of the last lap. Both have started the final lap separated by 108 thousandths, a sigh, which has prompted the British to try the overtake that made the difference between a simple podium finish and glory. The CFMOTO Aspar rider has been able to maintain the lead position until crossing the finish line, giving Canet no chance. Dixon has managed to get on the podium for the second consecutive race and has become the fourth British rider in history to win at home, ending a nine-year streak without English victories at Silverstone, since Danny Kent won in Moto3 in 2015.

Behind Dixon and Canet, the battle for the last podium position has been very close. Up to six riders have fought in the chasing group throughout the race and, in the end, it has been Celestino Vietti who has finished third. Just behind the Italian has ended World Championship leader Sergio García, who has made a great comeback. With this fourth position, García increases his advantage at the top of the standings to 18 points after seeing his main rivals fail today. Ai Ogura, after fighting for a podium position for much of the race, has been fourteenth, while Joe Roberts has crashed.

CFMOTO Aspar Team rider Izan Guevara has finished the British GP in twentieth position. The Spanish has suffered a lot throughout the weekend and has started from twenty-fourth position. After the first lap, Guevara has dropped to last position after having had to avoid another rider who had crashed in front of him, but as the race has progressed, he has been able to recover some places until he has crossed the finish line in twentieth place. Now, the CFMOTO Aspar Team rider already has his mind set on Austria, where he hopes to score points again.

Moto3 never disappoints and in the British GP it has provided an intense battle for victory until the last corner. Iván Ortolá has won the race in Silverstone just ahead of CFMOTO Aspar Team rider David Alonso. Throughout the race, several riders have tried to break away, but none of them have succeeded and the race has been contested in a large group until the end. Alonso, who has started from fourth place, has always been in that leading group, although he has taken easy in the first laps. It has been not until the last five laps that he has shown his cards and has begun to overtake his rivals to fight for the top 3. Alongside Alonso and Ortolá, Collin Veijer and Dani Holgado have battled for the podium. Everything has been decided in the last corners and, after multiple overtakings throughout the last lap, including several incidents, it has been Ortolá who has crossed the finish line first. The CFMOTO Aspar Team rider has ended just 123 thousandths off victory and thus has added his seventh podium of the year, the first that is not a victory. Finally, Veijer has been third and Holgado, fourth. With this result, Alonso maintains the lead of the World Championship and has a 53-points advantage over Ortolá, who consolidates his second place in the standings after winning his second race of the season. Holgado is in third place, 66 points off the leader, and Veijer is fourth, 68 points off.

CFMOTO Aspar Team rider Joel Esteban has completed a great comeback in Silverstone. After starting from twenty-second position, the young Spanish has crossed the finish line in thirteenth place and has been the best rookie of the race. Esteban is satisfied with the work he has done, although he believes he could have achieved a better result. The CFMOTO Aspar Team rider has homework to do ahead of the next race, to be celebrated in two weeks in Austria, as he is aware that a better grid position could have allowed him to fight in the leading group.
