Rookie Sensation In QATAR For CFMOTO ASPAR TEAM

The Qatar Grand Prix ended on a high note for the CFMOTO Aspar Team. Dani Holgado and David Alonso consolidated this weekend's progress and gave their all in a very demanding race in terms of tyre management. Holgado was once again one of the protagonists of the day. The Spanish rider made a great start and quickly moved up to the podium positions. The Moto2 rookie had no doubts about fighting one-on-one with more experienced rivals and remained in the top three for most of the race. With four laps to go Holgado dropped to fourth, but was able to hold on and manage tyre degradation to achieve his best result in the intermediate class.

David Alonso also completed his best weekend in Moto2. The CFMOTO Aspar Team rider, who started from eleventh on the grid, made a mistake at the start and took a touch in the first corner which, combined, relegated him to the back of the field in the opening laps. Alonso turned the situation around and found his pace to overtake his rivals lap after lap. The Moto3 World Champion had a better feeling as the race progressed and entered the points zone. Alonso was not satisfied with that and kept going until he crossed the finish line in eleventh place, thus achieving his best result in the category.

While in Moto3, CFMOTO Aspar Team did not have the desired ending at the Grand Prix of Qatar despite the good feelings of its riders. Dennis Foggia and Joel Esteban maintained a good pace from the first laps and made up several positions to try and score as many points as possible. However, they did not finish the Lusail race, having both suffered two crashes at different moments of the race. Dennis Foggia went from strength to strength and climbed positions from thirteenth to sixth in just three laps. The Italian rider felt very comfortable and fought with the leading riders to stay in the front group. Foggia had a touch with another rider and crashed when he had just set the fastest lap of the race.

Joel Esteban only needed four laps to reach the points positions after starting from twenty-first place. The CFMOTO Aspar Team rider showed great pace from the opening laps despite having had a day less practice than the other riders in the class and moved up more than ten positions in just five laps. Esteban managed tyre wear well in a long race, although an unfortunate crash in the second corner, when he was seventh, prevented him from achieving one of his best results in the category.
